Jews of Ashkenazi descent are most frequently affected by type 1 Gaucher disease caused by a faulty GBA gene. What are the symptoms of Gaucher disease?

Each person’s symptoms may be different. For many people, symptoms begin in childhood. Some people have very mild symptoms.

Symptoms of Gaucher disease can include:

  • Eye movement disorders
  • Yellow spots in the eye
